Read through these psalms for healing to help you gain strength during your recovery. These healing psalms can uplift you and bring you comfort.
Psalms is one of my favorite books in the bible. It is so uplifting at times. Even those verses that describe the hard times always resonate so deeply with me.
I especially enjoy all the psalms for comfort and strength to get me through my difficult times with chronic pain.
I have found so many psalms for healing and strength, so I wanted to share some of my favorites with you!
Hopefully they bring peace to your soul during your difficult times like they do for me whenever I’m struggling with my illness and wanting to be healed.

Whether you want some psalms for healing sickness or for healing a broken heart, you can draw on these scriptures and feel peace that God knows what you are going through and can help you.

Psalm 34:17-20 KJV
“The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, And delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the LORD delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: Not one of them is broken.”
If you are in deep anguish, know that Jesus is right there with you. He does not leave you alone during your sufferings. He will deliver you, in God’s own time.
It’s one of my favorite psalms for healing and recovery.
Psalm 41:1-3 KJV
“Blessed is he that considereth the poor: The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: And thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: Thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.”
This verse just shows God’s unfailing love for us. The Lord will strengthen us, even if He cannot heal us when we want; we always have access to His strength and power.

Psalm 147:3 KJV
“He healeth the broken in heart, And bindeth up their wounds.”
This is one of the most powerful psalms for healing of a loved one or ourselves. This talks about both the spiritual and physical suffering that the Lord will take care of both.

Psalm 30:1-2 KJV
“I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, And hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.”
During your bible study, this is a great psalm for healing the sick to study about.
Psalm 6:2-4 KJV
“Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed. My soul is also sore vexed: But thou, O LORD, how long? Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: Oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.”
This is one of the psalms healing verses that is so deep and powerful. It describes perfectly what I often ask as I am in pain and suffering.
You can use these bible verses as a prayer to ask God for mercy and strength.
Psalm 107:19-20 KJV
“Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, And he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.”
These psalms for the sick and afflicted are so soothing to me because I know I am not alone in my struggles. I know the Lord has healed in the past and can heal me too.
Psalm 73:26 KJV
“My flesh and my heart faileth: But God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”

Psalm 25:16-18 KJV
“Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; For I am desolate and afflicted. The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses. Look upon mine affliction and my pain; And forgive all my sins.”
This is another one of the psalms for healing sickness that can be used as a prayer. I often say these words as I am talking to my God during my struggles.
Psalm 16:1 KJV
“Preserve me, O God: For in thee do I put my trust.”
This psalm about healing is all about remembering in who you put your trust in. God can and will deliver us. The first step is to trust in Him fully, which can be really hard to do when you don’t know the end result.

Psalm 31:7-8 KJV
“I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: For thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities; And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: Thou hast set my feet in a large room.”
This psalm verses about healing feels like when you have received a healing. Make sure to rejoice and praise the Lord when we are healed.
Psalm 109:31 KJV
“For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, To save him from those that condemn his soul.”
This is one of the more spiritual psalms on healing. When you have broken heart, remember, Christ can heal that too.
Psalm 27:14 KJV
“Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
You probably don’t always want to read these types of healing verses in psalms. Be patient during pain and afflictions is not fun nor easy.
Psalm 61:1-3 KJV
“Hear my cry, O God; Attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, When my heart is overwhelmed: Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.”
This is another one of the great psalms for healing the sick that can be used as a prayer.
Psalm 91:14-15 KJV
“Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.”
Another one of the beautiful psalms scriptures on healing! God will deliver you!
Psalm 94:18-22 KJV
“When I said, My foot slippeth; Thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul. Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, Which frameth mischief by a law? They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, And condemn the innocent blood. But the LORD is my defence; And my God is the rock of my refuge.”
Again, this feels more like a rejoicing psalms of healing! There is a season for rejoicing and a season for lamenting.

Psalm 103:2-5 KJV
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; So that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
Another one of the best psalms about healing right here! This is the perfect psalm for sickness because it literally states, “healeth all thy diseases.”
Psalm 143:8-12 KJV
“Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; For in thee do I trust: Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; For I lift up my soul unto thee. Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me. Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: Thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. Quicken me, O LORD, for thy name’s sake: For thy righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble. And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, And destroy all them that afflict my soul: For I am thy servant.”
I feel like this psalm of healing is another great one for the broken hearted.

Psalm 23:1-4 KJV
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
You probably already know this psalm for healing and strength! It is a common one that is turned into a song we often sing at church.
Psalm 146:7-9 KJV
“Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: Which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners: The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: The LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: The LORD loveth the righteous: The LORD preserveth the strangers; He relieveth the fatherless and widow: But the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.”
Another great psalm for the sick and those struggling. If the Lord can heal the blind, He can heal you too!
